Patience and the Wheel

The Wheel card in The Literary Tarot

The Wheel is a card of patience. It’s a reminder that we reap what we sow. A deeper noticing that every action we take creates motion and momentum. Conscious non-action has effects and results as well. Every time we take time to do something, we create more space in our life for that. We are choosing not to do something else. It’s a choice, even if it doesn’t seem like one.

Some things are basically not optional, but we still get to choose the way we undertake them. How do we make sure we don’t forget to water the plants, eat food, and make it to the cousins birthday? Planning. Some of us enjoy it, some avoid it at all costs. The calendar can be a benevolent shepherd or the bane of all spontaneous fun and divine timing. It’s perspective. The Wheel invites us to enjoy the buildup. Look farther out on the calendar. What little things can we do today that keep those big fun things on our daily horizon.

When the Wheel comes up, it’s time to plant seeds and experiment with new routines. The Full Moon in Capricorn is good for those things as well. Capricorn is cardinal, a starter, a motivator, but it’s an earth sign, which is the most stable of the elements. This is the perfect time to look at our commitments and make sure we’re getting what we need from them. Cull the responsibilities list, and let our hearts be captivated by beauty. If things need to change, Capricorn is support for thinking outside the box. Caps know where their comfort zone is very clearly. It takes some build up, but they are experts at stepping just outside the lines. They push the edges without falling off the cliff.

The Wheel with this July Capricorn Full Moon illuminates our edges. If we look further down the track than tomorrow, this week, or even this month, we see the bigger pattern emerging. It’s time to try new pathways, ones that will grow the things we want in our lives. Take the road less travelled, as long as it brings you joy. Notice where you spend your time. Try something new. Be Patient. Good things grow over time.

Blessed Be
